In order to keep your new brick in the best possible condition, the following is suggested: (1) You may step on recently laid brick two days after it has been installed. (2) Never strike at brick with a shovel or sharp object under any circumstance. Such an action might result in cracking, splitting, or breaking of the brick. (3) Heavy objects (such as patio furniture or planters) can safely be placed on recently laid brick in two to three days. (4) Never use deicers on brick because the brick will then slowly deteriorate. We advise use of sand (without salt) or kitty litter to provide traction during icy winter months in lieu of deicers.
